Questions, answered.

The short version of what PharmacyIQ is — and what it isn’t.

What is PharmacyIQ?

E-prescribing and practice software for licensed practices. You prescribe; independent, licensed pharmacies dispense. We run the software, not the medication.

Are you a pharmacy or a drug seller?

No. PharmacyIQ is a software company. We do not compound, dispense, sell, ship or take title to any medication. Independent, state-licensed pharmacies dispense every prescription and set their own prices.

Who makes the clinical decisions?

The licensed provider. Every prescription is written by a licensed provider for a specific patient, using their own clinical judgment. PharmacyIQ does not recommend or promote any medication.

Who can apply?

Licensed providers and practices in the United States. Access is by application, and we verify licensure before an account is opened.

Is PharmacyIQ HIPAA compliant?

PharmacyIQ is built to meet HIPAA requirements. We sign a business associate agreement (BAA) with every practice, and patient information is encrypted, stored in the United States and limited by role.

Do your technology providers sign HIPAA agreements?

Yes. Every service provider that handles patient information for us signs a BAA first.

Do I need to be licensed where my patient is?

Yes. You must be licensed to prescribe in the state where your patient is located.

Do you bill insurance or federal health care programs?

No. PharmacyIQ does not bill insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal health care program.

What does it cost?

Pricing is shared once your practice is approved and is set out in your Platform Services Agreement.

This page is general information, not legal or medical advice. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety, efficacy or quality; all clinical decisions rest with the treating provider. More questions? Email hello@pharmacyiq.co or apply for access.
